...that has an ongoing title that has lasted as long as her.

Seeing as how Wonder Woman has been in comics since the 40s, that's an absurd thing to shoot for. That's like saying "Name one male superhero who has a title that's gone for as long as Superman".

Marvel has simply placed their original female characters in with teams, rather than solo titles. Perhaps the powers that be were worried that they could not carry a title back in the male-dominated market of yesteryear. So very powerful or interesting characters like Rogue, Jean Grey, Wasp, Storm, Scarlet Witch - all with unique powers and were not simply female versions of male characters - were placed in X-Men or Avengers titles. Well written, I think Wasp and Rogue could have carried their own books easily. I would wager Kitty Pryde could as well - which is why she seems to get more and more showings in exterior titles.

Blonde Phantom might have had a shot, if she had not been introduced during a waning period of comics.

The point is, that Marvel tends to save its best unique characters for their group titles (Invisible Woman, all the female members of the X-Men, female Avengers, Dagger, etc) while simply playing it safe for solo titles.

That said, I would sincerely hope that a person's decision to buy a comic is not based on whether or not the main character has breasts. Simply put, one of the best series out there is the Batwoman series. Yes, she's part of the "Bat-family", but overall she's a great character on her own and the art (especially in the first 20 or so issues) was just breathtaking. Probably the only art I considered better than the God of Thunder run.

You should buy the comic if you dislike the art, or if you hate the writing. If you refuse to purchase the comic because it's not displaying a character you like exactly how you want... then honestly, write your own stories.
