What if Hickman's temporal tinkering is messing with the great powers of the MU. The Living Tribunal was recently found dead on the moon, Celestials are getting killed with axes, and the Phoenix has been eliminated. What if the Odinforce is also being compromised and its affecting Mjolnir's enchantment. It's the only thing I can think of to at least justify Exitar getting killed. (There's absolutely no way a writer should get away with killing Exitar with an axe without a good explanation.) Thoughts?

The explanation back then was the same as it is now... Celestials had a peculiar weakness to Sue's forcefields, just as they now have a specific weakness to the enchantment in Thor's axe.

And the Sue thing had a bit more to it. Exitar already was somewhat weakened from earlier exertions and had some chinks in his armor that the IW exploited. They are not close to being the same.

    Quote:
That is utterly false. No one else had any effect on Exitar. Sue was able to get into Exitar because her powers tapped into hyperspace and that was the only reason any of them were able to open a hole in Exitar's armor and it was Sue alone who blasted Exitar out of the dimension when she destroyed what resembled his brain.

Was it a dumb plot development...your mileage may vary. But you're using an explanation that contradicts what was in the story.

I will admitt that I was wrong about the context. However, everyone is making it out to be that Sue just stood there and beat a Celestial. She had to get to the brain casing. She was able to breach the outer shell and had some help along the way. She blasted the brain case at that point and was able to defeat Exitar.

It was hardly an easy feat, it was more luck than anything. A plot point. I never really had an issue with it outside of convinience. It makes more sense than the deal with Asgard, as they directly failed in the past to stop them.
