Previous Post During the Black Winter run didn't it show Thanos with Mjolnir killing Thor? Does that mean Thanos may be the God of Hammers? I suspect that is a red herring of some kind. It just doesn't make sense.

It was shown again in this week's Timeless #1, so it's probably something that will happen in the not too distant future. Or rather something that needs to be prevented from happening.
I doubt it has anything to do with this God of Hammers though.
