Previous Post

The latest season was so boring that after three episodes I deleted the rest of the shows on my PVR. I searched for some spoilers and I'm glad I didn't waste my time with the episodes.

Spoilers ahead:

Two major characters, there since the beginning, are now dead. Nick (who I was happy to see go) and Madison, one of only two characters I was invested in. Nick was never interesting and should never have survived in the first place. He was only interesting in that he figured out how to survive by coating himself in zombie gizzards to walk undetected among the dead. But they never really went back to that, so no problem with them killing him.

Madison, arguably the main character, was somewhat more interesting. But this season, for some reason, she hitched her wagon to a losing proposition (living in a Diamond City-type shelter inside a baseball stadium). Her good judgement flew out the window and she became stupid. She died to defend her bad idea, proving in the end that it was a bad idea.

Now the only surviving character from the original cast is Madison's daughter, and I never cared enough about this character to even remember her name. The ported the boring-as-heck Morgan over from the main show so he could infect FTWD with his boredom. They introduced three new characters without giving us reasons to care about them. And they don't have a narrative nor a villain. It's just a bleak show about hopeless people slowly running out of food.

So this is me, signing off from FTWD. I will probably watch TWD long enough to see Rick's departure, and then call that one quits too.

Once upon a time, AMC had the guts to let a top-rated show wrap up at the top of its game (Breaking Bad). But with TWD franchise they are running it into the ground and I can't watch it anymore.

I gave up somewhere after Nick died but before Madison died.
