I type this as a fan of MAr-Vell, with a sympathetic outlook on teh character.

I've said this before. When a character is resurrected, it needs to be at least as good or important of a story as their death. Usually, that is not hard.

For Bucky it was nearly impossible, but Brubaker pulled it off. Maybe not in importance, but a really damn well crafted story. Though I think he should have died and remained dead when Steve came back.

The problem is, Mar-Vell's death was a really good story.

They also have to have a plan. Look what happened when they revived Kraven in a lackluster story, with no plan.

I am not saying there is not a story or plan that can do this, but it is hard to do.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, the MCU. He does not matches the MCU. That is the new reality. The MCU is the real and important universe, and everything else is just an idea farm.

And since in that, Mar-Vell is a little...different, it became near impossible. Annette Benning all but killed the dream of a resurrection.

Thunderbird might still be used in the MCU when the folks X-Folk arrive.

Hope I am wrong about Marv, but...

The MCU has now brought in the multiverse, so the real Mar-Vell from another universe could be brought in.

As to what was done to Mar-Vell in the CM movie, don't get me started on that junk. They could have cast a male in the role but heaven forbid....

As to bringing him back, well the reality gem, the phoenix have done it. The problem is that Marv wants to stay dead.

This current story Last of the Marvels......either its him somehow revived again or just a powered down clone. We shall see.

But if he actually does return, it will be interesting to see how his outlook and life and death have changed. Also how will the assorted races of the universe react to his return? Messiah or monster?
